From Sydney’s North Shore
to the Tweed Coast.
Allan Munn started painting in the 1970s, working on some beautiful homes across Sydney’s North Shore. He learned that a lasting finish is 80 percent preparation — wash, fill, sand, prime, then paint. That lesson never changed.
Taje Munn grew up in Port Macquarie, then moved to the Tweed Shire at 13. School holidays were spent on site with his grandfather: cutting in, sanding, cleaning brushes, and listening to the same instruction — do it right the first time. By 15 he had started his apprenticeship.
Today, Munn & Co. Finishes carries that standard into every project. Whether it is a single bedroom in Banora Point, a full exterior repaint in Kingscliff, or a commercial fit-out on the Gold Coast, the same rules apply: proper prep, premium products, clean sites and clear communication.

The apprenticeship begins

2000s
A second generation picks up the brush
Taje Munn works beside his grandfather during school holidays, moving from labourer to apprentice.
2024

Taje launches the business in Tweed Heads, bringing two generations of standards to the Gold Coast and Northern Rivers.
