Most painters can roll a wall. The Munn Finish is in the work nobody sees — the sugar-soap clean, the careful masking, the inspection-light filling and the premium products chosen for each surface. That, and two generations of training passed down through the family.

Three-coat premium system
We don't roll cheap trade paint and call it done. Interiors get an acrylic sealer, enamel gloss on trim and doors, and low-sheen acrylic on walls and ceilings — properly built up so it lasts.
Clean with sugar soap
Before we touch a surface, everything is washed down with sugar soap to remove dust, grease and contaminants that stop paint from bonding. Most painters skip this step.
Drop sheets, plastic & masking
Floors are protected with drop sheets, furniture and fixtures are covered in plastic, and edges are carefully masked before any work begins.
Spray & back-roll ceilings
Ceilings are sprayed and back-rolled where appropriate for an even, consistent finish with no missed spots.
Inspection lights & filling
We work under inspection lights while filling so every defect is visible. All gaps are filled and finished before sanding.
Vacuum, dust & tack cloth
After sanding we vacuum floors, dust off brushes and finish with a tack cloth — the same standard used in the automotive industry.
Fine sandpaper finish
Doors, arches and walls are sanded with fine paper before the final coat so the finish feels as smooth as it looks.
Family-trained since the 1970s
Taje learned the trade from his grandfather Allan, who has been painting since the 1970s across Sydney’s North Shore. That apprenticeship started at 15 and continues on every job today.

Allan Munn
Painting since the 1970s
Trained by his grandfather Allan, Taje moved to the Tweed Shire from Port Macquarie at 13 and soon picked up the brush doing work experience for him. Allan has been painting since the 1970s and has worked on some beautiful homes across Sydney's North Shore.
At 15, Taje started his apprenticeship and began carrying his grandfather's skills forward. Today he continues to perfect his craft on every job — from prep to the final coat.
We take genuine pride in this trade. Two generations, one name on the van — and a standard we refuse to drop. No shortcuts, no excuses, no cutting corners. If it carries the Munn name, it's done properly.
