How we approach deck & timber work
Most decks we restore are grey, cupping and full of nail bleed before we start. We sand back to fresh timber, replace any boards that are too far gone, then wash the deck with a brightener to reset the colour before sealing.
Coating spec depends on the timber and the exposure. Hardwood decks in full sun get a UV-rated penetrating oil (Cutek, Intergrain UltraDeck) — they stay flexible and won't peel. Pine and softwoods get a film-forming stain for better moisture protection.
We also handle fences, pergolas, screens, hardwood cladding and outdoor furniture. Every quote includes a maintenance interval so you know when to re-oil — typically 12–18 months on a coastal deck.

Deck & Timber painting — common questions
How often does a deck need re-oiling on the coast?
On the Tweed and Gold Coast, every 12–18 months for a deck in full sun, 18–24 months for a covered or shaded deck. We send a reminder when yours is due.
Can a grey deck be brought back?
Yes — almost always. Sanding plus a brightener wash strips the silver-grey UV layer and exposes fresh timber. Once oiled, it looks new.
Do you replace damaged boards?
Yes. We quote board replacement separately so you can choose how far to go — full deck replacement, individual boards, or just the worst ones.
