How we install garage floor coatings on the Gold Coast
A garage floor coating is not paint. Hardware-store garage paint lifts the first time you park a hot car on it. We diamond-grind the slab to open the concrete profile, vacuum-extract the dust, fill cracks and control joints with a fast-cure resin, then bond a two-pack system directly to bare concrete — that's what makes a coating hot-tyre resistant.
Most Gold Coast homeowners choose a decorative flake finish: pigmented basecoat, full flake broadcast, scrape back, then a clear polyaspartic or polyurethane topcoat. Flake hides dust and tyre marks, adds grip underfoot and never yellows in the sun. Metallic and solid-colour systems are available where you want a showroom look.

How much does a garage floor coating cost on the Gold Coast?

Will it peel from hot tyres?
Not when it's ground and bonded correctly. Hot-tyre pickup happens with roll-on garage paints and coatings applied over sealed or acid-etched slabs. We diamond-grind to bare concrete and use two-pack resins rated for vehicle traffic.
How long does the install take?
A standard double garage is 1–2 days on site. Walk on it after 24 hours, park on it after 72.
Is a garage floor coating slippery when wet?
Flake finishes already have texture. Where the garage takes rain or you want extra grip, we add a fine anti-slip aggregate into the topcoat at no real cost to the look.
Which garage floor coating is best for the Gold Coast climate?
A flake system with a UV-stable polyaspartic topcoat. It handles coastal humidity, won't yellow in direct sun, hides dust between cleans and gives natural grip when the car brings water in.
Can you coat an old, stained or cracked garage slab?
Almost always. Diamond grinding removes oil-stained surface concrete, and cracks and control joints get cut out and filled with a fast-cure resin before the base coat. Only slabs with active movement or severe moisture need extra work.
